Alvaro Siviero has been in love with the piano since his childhood. Musician who is active member of the Brazilian musical scene, both as soloist and as a chamber musician, Siviero has been to Germany, Portugal, Italy, USA, Austria, France, England, Switzerland performing in tours throughout Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Peru with numerous orchestras, such as the London Festival Orchestra, Budapest Chamber Orchestra, Russian Virtuosi of Europe, The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, Salzburg Chamber Soloists and I Musici of Montreal. He has also shared the stage with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra.
The critics of his performances can be summed up in what was published by the newspaper El Mercúrio (Chile), defining Siviero as "a pianist to be applauded". In 2009, his touching performance of Rachmaninov Third Piano Concerto was acclaimed by audience and critics during national tour in the main concert halls in Brazil.
Siviero was the first ever Brazilian pianist selected to attend the Fondazione Wilhelm Kempff Master Classes on Beethoven, Positano, Italy. In 2007, Siviero performed in an exclusive recital for Pope Benedict XVI during the visit of the Roman Pontiff to Brazil. In 2009, he represented Brazil in the historic Worlwide Meeting of Artists held at Rome's Sistine Chapel.
Siviero has just taken over the artistic direction of the season of concertos at IICS-Instituto Internacional de Ciências Sociais (São Paulo). The pianist holds a degree in Multicultural Education at the Lesley College (Cambridge), in Physics from Universidade de São Paulo and coordinates a blog of classical music in the newspaper O Estado de São Paulo.
