Siviero ends 2011 with concerts in tribute to the composer Franz Liszt
The concerts took place in the cities of Curitiba (Espaço Cultural Capela Santa Maria) and São Paulo (Centro Cultural São Paulo)
Ending the year where the world celebrated the bicentennial of the birth of the Hungarian composer Franz Liszt, Siviero held two astounding concerts, proving why Liszt is considered one of the composers who most requires a pianist accurate technical skill. In Sao Paulo, where this concert meant the last Brazilian tribute to the bicentennial, Siviero showed during the performance clear awareness that the celebrations were ending up at that moment. And he played as if it were his last time with the composer. Curated by Regina Porto and named as Liszt Machine, the presentation included projection of images revealing some of the social and industrial revolution that took place in the world during the years where Liszt lived. All this complementary information, of course, interspersed with the energetic performance of the pianist.
In Curitiba, where the income from the concert was donated to the Centro de Capacitação Os Pinhais, and after the dense lisztian program performed, Siviero played the famous Piano Quintet in F minor, by Brahms. "Doing a presentation with sales reverted to an entity is very rewarding" stated the pianist.

For the first time, pianist and orchestra join together to perform the colossal work of the German master. The Piano Concerto n.2 in B flat major, Op.83, by Brahms is counted among one of the most difficult works in the piano symphonic repertoire and, no doubt, is the longest piano concerto ever written. After the first chords during rehearsals, it was possible to predict the success of the presentation. Under the baton of the conductor Osvaldo Ferreira, the presentation of the Paraná Symphony Orchestra in the Sala São Paulo had a special taste for being the debut of the orchestra in this very traditional concert hall in Brazil. Several people from the cultural, political and business area marked their presence at this historic moment in the cultural life of the State of Paraná.
The program also included the Egmont Overture and the Symphony n.7, by Beethoven.

Alvaro Siviero and Kornel Wolak perform Brahms and Schubert
The pianist and the Polish clarinetist make innovative reading of the sonatas by Brahms and Schubert
On October 9, 2011 at 11:30am at the Centro Cultural São Paulo, Siviero performed a recital more than exciting. The repertoire of the program consisted of works, as it happens when talking about chamber music, that made the audience notice the richness of sound produced by the combination of the piano and the clarinet, played with precision by the skilled Polish clarinetist Kornel Wolak, who expressed subtle and refined musical ideas.
For his debut on Brazilian soil, Kornel Wolak interpreted the Arpeggione sonata, by Schubert, and the Sonata n.1 in F minor, Op.120, by Brahms. With an intimate atmosphere, the works performed made the audience experience moments of 19th century.
"Being invited to participate in a presentation with the clarinetist Kornel Wolak is an honor. I am very excited about the opportunity," says the pianist Alvaro Siviero. "I hope all you enjoy the intensity of the Sonatas to be performed."

Siviero takes over blog of classical music in the newspaper O Estado de São Paulo
To those of you interested in listening to the interview Siviero gave to CBN (in portuguese) click here. The communication keeps going on: the piano becoming a laptop, the stage becoming a digital website and music turning into words. Siviero thinks that writing is still such an unspeakable pleasure as performing and listening to good music.
All are invited to participate along this unforgettable journey, rich and true. We wish you all good reading!
Tribute to the bicentennial of Liszt in the Festival de Campos do Jordão
The Recital was held at the Boa Vista Palace
In July, Campos do Jordão heats up his musical life in the same proportion as thermometers register temperature drops. Music takes hold in various parts of the city.
Siviero recital took place in the idyllic chapel of the Palace Boa Vista, place where the Governor of the State of São Paulo and relatives stay during winter time. The program covered extensive musical literature of the feared Hungarian composer, from transcriptions such as Ave Maria (originally composed by Schubert but transcribed for piano by Liszy) to the tops of difficulty of the Dante Sonata and the Fantasy and Fugue on a Theme B.A.C.H. The audience, who had difficulty to find tickets since they got sold out weeks before the recital, got speechless.
After intermission, Siviero and guest musicians performed the famous Piano Quintet in F minor, Op. 34 by Johannes Brahms. The dense and precise chamber sound created during the performance had safe renditions of Pablo de Leon and Ruda Alves (violins), Alexandre de Leon (viola) and Mauro Brucoli (cello).
